Art / Craft Stores = Heaven = Empty Wallet - New Shoes + But Hey! New Tools = Happiness
You do the math.

If it wasn't for the super nice sales person that was assisting my purchases I could've stayed there all day staring and checking over everything they have. I just don't want to bother her with me taking too much time indulging and diving into enviousness on the products they sell. :)
1. Gum Arabic
I use gum arabic as binder for watercoloring projects. Makes it look less watery and makes it stick well to surface of the paper when drying. I also put few drops of gum arabic inside my ink bottles. I feel like the ink sticks well on the nibs when writing calligraphy.
2. Ruling Pen
I use ruling pen for making straight lines in my painting projects. I'm practicing to use it for calligraphy since it's one of the ruling pen's main purposes. Will post an embarrassing take on the ruling pen power soon as I've mastered it (mastered?)
3. X-acto Knife
I love X-acto knive's precise ability to cut. Or is it just my hand?
4. Carving Tools
Stamps galore! But I think these tools needed more sharpening, they're a little dull for my carving skills.
5. Film Adhesol
I've been commissioned on a little project with a slight chance of screen printing. This liquid stuff would make a stencilled green film stick to a silk screen. No light transfer needed.
Scribe
If you're looking for basic calligraphy needs you'll find enough at Scribe. I was looking for an oblique pen holder and they don't have it yet, but they told me they'll gonna have it soon. Nevertheless, they carry the famous Brause nib! Yay! Well, some of it.

1. Brause Rosefedern Nr. 76
I really want to learn on how to write with this nib. It's really flexible and light, but I haven't got the hang of using it just yet.
I already licked the nib (doesn't really sounds nice) to take off the factory coating. Also, I tried heating the tip of it, and I think I burnt it (hehe) but I think it's still working.
Will still practice more for this nib, I just want to learn this so badly!
Ciao!

That Nib
Bought this nib from Joli's ‑ art store slash Disneyland.
I'm not sure what brand or nib kind it is but I'm really liking it. Just started practicing calligraphy again for an upcoming commission. I hope my right hand remembers those college day moves.
I used watercolor for practice and random words in my head and words I hear from the FM radio.
So far here's one of the clean works I've done… so far.
Font inspired by Carolyna Pro.
